Your evening starts the moment your air-conditioned 4×4 leaves the city behind and the skyline gives way to open desert. The road turns to sand, the driver adjusts for the dunes and the landscape opens into rolling waves of gold as far as you can see. Midway through, the vehicle climbs to a high dune for a scheduled stop this is your window for the classic Dubai desert photo, with the sun starting to dip and the sand catching every shade of orange and pink. From there, it’s on to camp: lanterns lit, henna artists ready, the smell of a BBQ grill drifting through the air. As the night sets in, the entertainment starts belly dancers, a Tanoura spinning show and a fire performance while you eat, relax and take in a desert night sky far from the city lights.
