Inside, a spiral staircase of 284 steps leads up through the monument’s interior exhibitions before opening onto the rooftop terrace. From there, Paris unfolds in every direction: the Champs-Élysées running straight toward the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower catching the light in the distance and the geometric sprawl of Haussmann’s boulevards laid out below like a map come to life.
