Entry begins with interactive exhibits on the 2nd floor that trace the building’s construction it went up in just 410 days during the Great Depression, still one of the fastest skyscraper builds in history. From there you’ll pass through the 80th floor’s history gallery before the final elevator to the 86th floor observatory.
Once outside, the deck wraps the full building, so you get every direction without moving to a different side Central Park and Midtown to the north, the Financial District and Statue of Liberty to the south. On the 102nd floor (if included), floor-to-ceiling glass replaces the open-air railing and the vantage point sits above most of the city’s other rooftops entirely.
Monday to Sunday, 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM, last entry 9:15 PM.
Note: this matches the building’s own published hours as of mid-2026. Worth a periodic recheck since observation decks occasionally shift seasonal hours.
